“The loss is immeasurable but so is the love left behind.”

Peacefully at rest on Monday 25th May 2020 at The Royal Stoke University Hospital, Sylvia aged 60 years of Oakhill, now reunited with her beloved husband Robert, the dearly loved and loving mum of Kerry, Sarah and Martyn, a much loved and treasured nan of Christopher, Jake and Jordan, a loving daughter of June and the late Gordon Baddeley, a dearly loved sister of Diane, June, Douglas and the late Gordon, a much loved auntie to Zoe, David, Charlotte, Josh, Ryan and Ben, a dear sister-in-law to Alan, Eric, Carol and Stewart, a loving niece to Shirley and Reg, also a much loved daughter-in-law to Margaret and the late Ray.

Sylvia was a beautiful person, inside and out, she touched the hearts of so many by her caring, considerate and empathetic manner in her job and her wonderful, bright, happy, helpful and caring nature shown to all, around her. She worked hard, showing much determination & commitment in everything she did from working, to caring for her family & friends. Colleagues recall her good sense of humour and one liners saying she always ‘kept them laughing’.

Sylvia, who was a keen gardener, went to Oakhill grammar school and had lived in Oakhill nearly all her life. She enjoyed going on holiday and walking her dog and took pleasure in simple things like going out for a coffee and piece of cake

Sylvia will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family, many friends, work colleagues and her lovely little dog Phoebe.

Due to the current restrictions a private graveside service will take place at Hanley Cemetery, a memorial service to celebrate Sylvia’s life will take place later in the year.

Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Sylvia would be gratefully received for The Critical Care Unit, RSUH.
