“Someone so special will never be forgotten.”
Suddenly, on Sunday 14th August 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving and devoted family, after a short illness fought with great bravery and courage, Martin (Mugsy) aged 63 years of Chesterton, the dearly loved husband and soulmate of Beverley, a much loved and respected dad of Dene, Jamie and the late Bernisa, a loving grandad to George and Amelia-Rose, a cherished son to Tom and the late Ellen and a dear son-in-law to Marj and the late Keith. A treasured brother-in-law of Jac, Cheryl, Diane, Tina also Mat and Simo. A dear brother of Karen, Kevin and Neil and a favourite Uncle Mugs. A respected colleague to the coal miners he worked alongside and a good friend to many. Mugsy will be sadly missed by all and admired for his courage and strength to the end.
Funeral Service and cremation to take place at Bradwell Crematorium on Wednesday 31st August 2022 at 3:20pm. Will relatives please accept this intimation and would friends wishing to attend kindly meet at the crematorium.
Flowers welcome or donations if preferred to Huntington’s Disease Association. Collection available at the service or afterwards at Holditch Working Mens Club, Chesterton.

Dear Uncle Mugsy,
I see you sitting their, in your comfy chair, listening to our stories and chatter, you were always part of the agony aunts natter. You often chirped out a funny sentence and would have us all in laughter, it would usually come out of nowhere and then you’d sit back and giggle with us after. You were a strong brave man, always there for everyone. You were a dedicated husband and an amazing dad to two sons. You touched the lives of many and were loved and treasured dearly. You were stolen from us to soon but we know that you wouldn’t have given up easy. You fought to the very end, still telling the odd joke here and there but now it’s time to start your next chapter, just have a drink ready for us when we meet again. We miss you Uncle Mugsy, like you wouldn’t believe. Rest up now. See you on the other side.
