I felt privileged to have been able to attend the celebration of Alan’s life, and to hear so many special observations relating to the way in which he lived that life.
I didn’t always understand Alan, my uncle, in no small part because I did not (and do not) have the same capacities in so many of those areas in which Alan excelled.
I can’t change my ability to learn. But, if I am to try and follow his leads, I can endeavor to be kinder.
Thank you, uncle Alan.
