“The life given to us by nature is short, but the memory of a life well spent is eternal.”

Former Cub Leader 74th Silverdale Scout Group

Peacefully at rest on Tuesday 19th May, 2020 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, Lillian aged 90 years of Silverdale, wife of the late Donald, also a dearly loved and treasured Mum, Sister, Auntie and friend.

Lillian, who was Vice President and Cub Leader at the 74th Silverdale Scouts, was well liked by the many cubs who passed through the group. She spent many years taking part in a wide range of activities and playing games, nurturing the cubs in her care with plenty of time spent outdoors. She would often report being spoken to in the village by cubs when they had grown-up remembering their time spent together.

Lillian had a particular skill in art and crafts which she brought to the group and was often making collages with the cubs from natural material found either in the HQ grounds or on walks around the village.

Lillian will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family and many friends.

Due to the current restrictions a private funeral service will take place at Bradwell Crematorium at 2.00pm. A memorial service to celebrate Lillian’s life will take place at a later date to be confirmed.

For friends wishing to pay their respects to Lillian and show their support to the family the funeral cortège will be travelling from Victoria Close to Abbey Street at 1.10pm, turning into Farmers Bank then going down Earl Street, from there we will be joining Vale Street at 1.25pm and pausing at the Scout Hut on Friday 19th June, 2020

Family flowers only please. Donations would be preferred in memory of Lillian to Age UK or The Dogs Trust care of the Funeral Director.
