  1. Matthew Gibson

I has been a pleasure to know you , both as a colleague and a friend. You put up such a brave battle, but are now hopefully at peace. Sleep well and God bless you.

    • Thank you Maxine you were very supportive of Matthew when he was working at Mercedes and that support and friendship noticeably continued as he fought the illnesses he would finally succumb to.

  2. So very sad that all of Matthew’s friends and colleagues at work are unable to join his family in paying our respects on the day.

‘Gibbo’ was hugely popular with everybody at Mercedes-Benz of Stoke and he will be sadly missed by us all, many of whom (myself included) who saw Matt develop from a painfully shy apprentice into a confident and knowledgeable member of the team who really knew his stuff and was always there for us to give advice and help whenever it was needed.

Quite apart from his undoubted talent in his job, we will always think fondly of his wonderful dry sense of humour…… a true gentleman, kind and caring, but with that cheeky grin and a great one liner for every occasion.

Matthew bore his long term health issues with admirable bravery, but now he is at peace……… gone but never forgotten.

Our thoughts go out to his nearest and dearest at this most difficult time.

    David Williams xx

    • Thank you David, you summed up my brother perfectly. We probably have never met but thank you for your kind words. The fact that Matthew was so well liked is no surprise to us and it means a lot to us to see how admirably Lookers supported him when he needed it most.
We know you and his other friends and colleagues will be thinking perhaps a little more about him on Friday,
Dianne Holland nee Gibson & Steve

  3. Uncle Matthew aka Monkey Boy.

I have endless childhood memories of growing up with you.

It deeply saddens me that you’re no longer here. You were one of the last remaining pieces and reminders of my mum, your sister, Lisa. But I’m glad you’re pain-free now and reunited with your sisters, mum and dad. I’m sure you and mum will be having the best catch up and I imagine she has missed you dearly, like you missed her.

You’ve always battled on despite your long-term health issues, but

    Rest in Peace.
    Love you always,
    Your dear niece, Charlotte xxx
