Peacefully at rest on Wednesday 23rd July 2025 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital surrounded by his loving and devoted family, Joe aged 92 years of Fegg Hayes.

The dearly loved and treasured brother of Mavis, Keith and the late Sammy, Brenda, Irene, Bernard, Norman, Jean, Doreen and Dot, a much loved and cherished brother in law and uncle also a very dear and respected friend of Kirsty, Heather, Alfie, Mick and Sue. Joe will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends.

Funeral service and cremation to take place at Bradwell Crematorium on Thursday 7th August 2025 at 2.40pm. Would friends wishing to attend kindly meet at the crematorium.

Flowers or if preferred donations in memory of Joe to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.

Derek Holdcroft

Peacefully at rest on Sunday 20th July 2025 surrounded by his loving and devoted family and the staff at Rowan Court Care Home, Newcastle. Derek aged 88 years formerly of Clayton, the dearly loved husband of Pam, the much loved and treasured dad of Karen, a dear father in law of Chris, a cherished grandad to Johnny and his partner Laura and Jack and his partner Laura, a dearly loved and amazing great grandad to Alfie, Arthur and Elva, a loving uncle and Navy pal of Steven also a dear brother in law to Carol and the late Frank. Derek will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends.

Derek’s family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the Nursing staff at Rowan Court Care Home, Newcastle and Staff at Eldon House Care Home, Dresden for all their wonderful care shown to Derek and all his family during their recent sad loss.

Funeral service to take place on Friday 8th August, 1:15pm at Fenton Spiritualist Church, King Street, Fenton, ST4 3ET prior to cremation at Bradwell Crematorium. Would friends wishing to attend kindly meet at the Church, black attire not required, guests are welcome to wear colour.

Family flowers only please donations would be preferred in memory of Derek to the Douglas MacMillan Hospice. A donation box will be available at the Church should anyone wish to make a donation on the day.

Christine Skerrett

Passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday 20th July 2025 with loved ones, Christine aged 72 years of Meir Heath, now reunited with her beloved husband Nick, the dearly loved and treasured mum of David and Alaine, a dear mother in law of Joanna and Stephen, a much loved and adored nanny to Noah Charles, Harrison James and Nathaniel Nicholas. Christine will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family and many friends.

Requiem Mass to take place at Immaculate Conception and St.Dominic Roman Catholic Church, Margaret Street, Stone ST15 8EN on Monday 18th August 2025 at 11.00 am prior to interment at Stone Cemetery, Woodland Garden of Remembrance.

Would friends wishing to attend kindly meet at the Church.

The family have requested that mourners attending the mass wear bright and colourful clothing or their own hand made clothing.

Family flowers only please but should anyone wish to bring a few flowers from their garden they would be much appreciated, or donations in memory of Christine to the Douglas MacMillan Hospice at Home Care. Peacefully at rest, on Saturday 12th July 2025, at home with his loving partner by his side, after a long illness fought with great courage and dignity, Damon aged 57 years of Rode Heath, the much loved and loving partner of Sharon and her family, the treasured son of Sandra and Michael, also a wonderful nephew, cousin and friend to many.

Damon will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family, friends and Arthur the dog.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearly loved mum, Marjorie, who passed away at home peacefully, following a long illness she fought with courage, dignity and determination, on Monday 30th June 2025, with her loving family by her side.

Marjorie, aged 81 years of Newcastle, formerly Etruria, the much loved and loving mum of Debbie, Tracy and Mandy, wonderful mother-in-law of Jase and Mark, the treasured nana-Marjie to Jamie, Josh, Ben, Sophie, Cameron, Cara, Laura, Mollie, Ethan, Ryan, Callum, Mia and all her great grandchildren, cherished sister to Billy and the late Dot, Val and Jeffrey. Also, a special auntie, sister-in-law and dear friend to many.

Marjorie will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family and friends.

Barbara Jane Dean (Née Woolley)

“Remembering you is easy, I do it every day. I hold you tightly within my heart, and there you’ll forever stay.”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Jane Dean, who left us peacefully after a short illness on 28th June 2025, aged 78.

Beloved wife of Clive, devoted mum to Laura and Rob, and loving mother of the late Andrew. Barbara was a proud and adoring nana to Freddie and Alfie and a loved and respected mother-in-law to Nick. She will also be dearly missed by Reuben the dog.

Barbara was a much-loved sister-in-law, auntie, and a friend to many. Her warmth, humour, and kindness touched everyone who knew her.

A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at St Andrew’s Church, Pilkington Avenue, Newcastle on Wednesday 23rd July 2025 at 11:30am. Please will all relatives and friends gather at the church.

In lieu of any flowers, the family kindly ask for donations to be made to Animal Lifeline. A donation box will be available on the day should anyone wish to leave a donation then.

Barbara will be remembered always with love and missed beyond words.

Beryl Elliott

Peacefully at rest on Wednesday 25th June 2025 at The Hawthorns, St.Quentin’s Residential Care Home, Newcastle, formerly of 15 Hillswood Drive Endon, Beryl, aged 92 years, now reunited with her beloved husband Bert.

Beryl was the dearly loved mum of Nicola, a much loved and cherished granny of Henry, Edward and Caroline, a loving great grandma to Layla, Tadhg and Oscar, also the cherished aunt of Sandra and great-aunt of Neil.

With special thanks to the kind staff at the Hawthorns, especially Dawn and Sarah, and also mum’s wonderful former neighbours in Endon and her lovely carer, Jenny.

Funeral Service and cremation to take place at Carmountside Crematorium on Friday 25th July 2025 at 3.30pm.

Would friends wishing to attend kindly meet at the crematorium.

No flowers or donations are necessary, but if you wish, sheaf type flowers with stems which will be taken to The Hawthorns after the service, or, if preferred, donations in memory of Beryl to the Alzheimer’s Society.
