Anthony Hannon (Tony)

At rest on Saturday 17th July 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family, Tony aged 76 years of Cross Heath, the dearly loved and treasured husband of Christine, the much loved dad of Neil, Joanne, Gail, Alex, Thomas and Gen, a dearly loved and very special father in law of Kelly and Andy, also an adored and cherished grandad.

Tony was a big Stoke City fan and loved his steam engines, a no fuss or frills kind of guy but more than anything he was a man who adored his family. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends.

A private funeral service to celebrate Tony’s life will take place at a date a time to be confirmed.

Jean Burns

“A memory is a keepsake of time that lives forever in the heart.”

Suddenly, on Sunday 4th July 2021 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, Jean aged 83 years of Hanford, now reunited with her beloved husband Winston, the dearly loved and treasured mum of Mandy, Alan and Ronnie, a loving mother in law of Fred, Sue and Edna, a much loved and cherished grandma of Jill, Bobby, Mary, Adam, Ryan and Alan, a dearly loved and loving great grandma of Kaitlin, Skyla-Rose, Dougie, Willow and Bella-Mai, also a dear sister of Violet and aunty of Beverley.

Jean will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family and many friends.

A funeral service will take place at St. Thomas’ Parish Church, Penkhull on Thursday 29th July 2021 at 1.00pm prior to interment at Hartshill Cemetery.

David Holder

“Grief never ends…but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith… It is the price of love.”

At rest on Saturday 3rd July 2021 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, David aged 59 years of Etruria, the dearly loved and treasured son of Kathleen and Harry, the much loved dad of Michael and Craig, a dearly loved and very special brother of Jane and Lisa, a dearly loved and cherished grandad and great grandad, also, a dear brother-in-law, uncle and nephew.

David was a huge football fan and from the day he was old enough he never missed a game, Stoke through and through. He was fun loving, outgoing and never stopped smiling. He was always up for a laugh, but more than anything he was a man who adored his family. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends.

A private funeral service to celebrate David’s life will take place at Carmountside Crematorium on Friday 16th July 2021 at 1:45pm. By the family’s request, bright clothing or Stoke City shirts to be worn. No mourning attire.

Peacefully at rest on Friday 2nd July 2021 surrounded by his loving family at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, Eric aged 94 years of Clayton, the much loved and treasured father of Heather and Janet, a loving father-in-law of Paul & Peter, a dearly loved and cherished grandad to Hannah, Laura, Oliver and Chloe, a very special great grandad to Ava, Leo, Evelyn, James, Isaac and Zak, also a dear brother in law of Joyce. Eric will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends.

A joint funeral service to celebrate the lives of Eric and his wife Lorna will take place at St. Luke’s Methodist Church, Severn Drive, Clayton on Thursday 15th July 2021 at 1:15pm prior to cremation at Bradwell Crematorium.

Alan James Kemp

“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You’re loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”

At rest on Friday 18th June 2021 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital whilst in the care of his loving and devoted family, Alan aged 78 years of Fenton, the dearly loved and loving husband of Margaret, the much loved and treasured dad of Diane, a dearly loved and cherished Grand of Lauren and Mark, also the most precious and loving Great Grandad of Grace.

Alan was kind hearted, funny, generous, hard working, a people person who was always thoughtful, a man with many interests from steam trains and drains, to pints with his boys club but most importantly, Alan was a loving family man. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends.

A private funeral service to celebrate Alan’s life will take place at Carmountside Crematorium on Tuesday 6th July 2021 at 12 noon.

Elizabeth Bromley (Dixie)

Peacefully at rest on Thursday 17th June 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family, Liz aged 84 years of Mill Street, Silverdale, the dearly loved and treasured mum of Denise, Marie, Susan, Julie, Joseph, Elizabeth and Donald, a much loved and cherished mother in law, little nana, great nana and aunty.

Liz was kind & funny, gentle, genuine & generous, independent, a little Geordie power house. Fiery & determined, she would be out armed with her trolley come rain or shine. Everyone knew her and she saw the good in everyone. She was a real spade-is-a-spade type of lady. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family and many friends.

Annie Dry

“Go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep. Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep.”

At rest on Saturday 5th June 2021 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, Annie aged 97 years of Cobridge, a dearly loved and treasured daughter, sister, auntie and a dear friend to many.  Annie was kind and considerate, giving and loving, a super person and a pleasure to be around, she had a love for dogs, sport and the soaps, but above all a passion to care for those she loved.  She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family and many friends.

John Coleman

“Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.”

At rest on Monday 31st May 2021 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital after a short illness fought with great courage and dignity, John aged 78 years of Kidsgrove, the dearly loved and loving husband of Bev, the much loved and treasured Dad of Wayne, Dean and Georgina, a dear father in law of Jeanette, Abi and Carl also a dearly loved and cherished grandad of Scarlett, Lily, Daisy and Leif.

John was a sweet man, loyal and loving, and a gentle soul, he adored his family and they were all he needed in life, he was never in the lime light more of a quiet observer, often the butt of the joke but took it all in good humour, he will be dearly missed but cherished in the memories of his loved ones. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends.

John Stuart (Jack)

“You left our arms, but never our hearts.”

At rest on Thursday 27th May 2021 in the wonderful care of the staff at Rowan Court Care Home, Jack aged 69 years of The Westlands, the dearly loved and loving brother of Marie, a much loved and treasured uncle, a loving family man and friend to many.

Jack was a sports fan: the darts, football, golf, a huge rangers fan and a chap who didn’t mind the odd little bet. A man with an impressive memory and an abundance of information to share. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends.
