Allan WAGSTAFF

“A heart that has touched so many lives can’t help but live on in those it loved.”

Peacefully at rest on Monday 15th March 2021 at the Douglas Macmillan Hospice after a short illness fought with great courage and dignity, Allan, aged 77 years of Silverdale, the dearly loved and loving husband of Ann, a much loved and treasured dad of Stuart, a loving father in law of Emma also a dearly loved and cherished grandad of Olivia and Ellen-May.

Allan, one half of a 54 year love story, working in the pits and holidaying in Blackpool every year. He loved cricket, snooker and Elvis but above all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends.

Marion Hutt

“Treasured with love beyond all feeling; missed with grief beyond all tears.”

Peacefully at rest on Saturday 13th March 2021 at the Douglas Macmillan Hospice after a courageous battle fought with great strength and dignity, Marion aged 59 years of Wood Lane and formerly ‘The Wirral’, the dearly loved and loving wife of Garry and much loved and treasured friend to many.

Marion, loved holidays, travelling a lot around Europe as well as further afield with Garry’s work where together they discovered the wonders of Abu Dhabi . Marion loved cycling, walking, reading and was a keen gardener. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family and many friends.

Betty Anderson

The most important thing is, even if we are apart, I’ll always be with you.”

Peacefully at rest on Saturday 6th March 2021 in the wonderful care of the staff at St. Quentin’s Residential Care Home, Newcastle, Betty aged 91 years, formerly of Trentham, now reunited with her beloved husband Ron, the dearly loved and precious mum of Susan and Mark, a loving mother in law of Miles and Joanne, a much loved and treasured Grandma to Maisie, Meg, Rose and James also a dearly loved sister to Joan and the late Bill, Margaret and Peter.

Betty, was a well known and respected lady, an inspiration to us all, an extraordinary, strong lady who battled with dementia for a number of years with great strength, courage and dignity, and even fought off Covid at 91 years of age. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family and many friends.

Due to the current restrictions a private funeral service will take place at Carmountside Crematorium on Tuesday 23rd March 2021 at 3.00pm.

Eileen LOWNDS (Nee SHENTON)

“Tears can heal, memories can comfort, love lives on forever.”

Peacefully at rest on Tuesday 2nd March 2021 in the wonderful care of the staff at The Chimes Residential Care Home, Penkhull, Eileen aged 85 years formerly of Stoke, Hartshill, Oakhill and Trent Vale, the dearly loved and amazing mum of Chris, Kevin, Maria, Sharon and Steven, a dear mother in law of Sue, Andy and Charlotte, a much loved and treasured Nan to Jacqui, Mark, Jayne, Fran, Jack, Lee, Lewis, Ty and Oliver. Also a dearly loved and cherished great Nan to James, Grace, Max, Poppy, Albie, Harriett and Noah.

Born in Water Street, Stoke on 20th September 1935, Eileen liked the simple things in life. She loved socialising with her friends enjoying a few games of bingo but her main priority was her children and family. Being a hard worker she had many jobs and would give you her last pound out of her purse. Her strong work ethic even came into action when having a meal in a restaurant on her first holiday abroad. When finishing, she started to clean the plates and cutlery up. Eileen loved her animals having a dog who used to follow her everywhere, also a cat, a ferret, magpie, squirrel, cockatoo and owl, but had to tow the line somewhere and sure did with a wasps nest in the garden, she hated wasps.

Eileen showed love and support to those around her and will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family and many friends.

Due to the current restrictions a private funeral service will take place at St.Peter Ad Vincula, Stoke Minster Church on Tuesday 16th March 2021 at 12 noon prior to interment at Hartshill Cemetery.

Brian Turner

“Death can only part you from the person temporarily until finally you reunite with them in heaven forever.”

Passed away peacefully and with dignity at his home on Wednesday 24th February 2021, surrounded by his loving family, Brian aged 79 years of Burslem, now reunited with his beloved wife Carol, a loving son of the late Ellis and Doris the dearly loved and treasured dad of Susan and Jayne, a much loved and devoted grandad to David, Leigh, Harry, Chloe and Isabella, a dearly loved and cherished great grandad to Rylan and Cory, a loving father in law, brother, brother in law and uncle.

Brian, forever young at heart, organised and independent, lovable and kind, caring and genuine, a family man, a spades a spade type of chap, a true Stokie, red and white through and through, Brian was Burslem born and bred, a lovable rogue growing up, he travelled for work and lived in: Scotland, Wales and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He left Burslem a teddy boy and returned a man.

Brian loved his Yorkshire tea and a good chuckle with his infectious laugh, he loved his gadgets having more than he knew what to do with, his most recent being his electric salt and pepper grinders. He was a huge fan of Amazon and there would always be a parcel with his name on it. Brian loved music and loved to dance especially if the song was a “ripper”. But, more than anything Brian loved his family and has now gone to be reunited with his soul mate Carol

Brian will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all his loving family and many friends.

Peacefully at rest on Sunday 21st February 2021 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, Ann aged 68 years of Adlington House, Wolstanton, formerly of Denby Dale and a Maths Teacher at Holmfirth High School, beloved sister of Michael and Sylvia, a dear sister in law of Christine and Graham, loving aunt to Kathleen, Emma, James and Phillip, a loved great aunt to Gracie and Freddie, godmother to Simon, Joanne and Rachel, also a dear friend to many in Stoke-on-Trent and Yorkshire and will be sadly missed by them all.

Due to the current restrictions a private funeral service will take place at Wolstanton Methodist Church, Newcastle, Staffordshire on Thursday 4th March 2021 at 12.45pm prior to Cremation at Bradwell Crematorium. Ariane Hancock (Azz)

“Like snow flakes you were unique and beautiful but gone all too soon.”

At rest on Wednesday 17th February 2021, Azz aged 40 years of Hartshill, a beloved daughter of Ann and Keith, a loved and a cherished sister to Diane and Paul, a loved and loving aunty to Jessica, Mason, Lily and Romeo, a loved granddaughter to Tom, a much loved cousin to Nicola and Gregory, a loved niece to Helen and Julie, a ‘bestest’ friend in the whole wide world to Sam, a great friend to Jody, Flick, Mandie, Debbie, Vee, Clare, Jodie and Katie, also a treasured house mate and friend to Sam.

Arianne was a ball of energy, she loved music and any opportunity to have a boogie was taken with two hands. A bit of a prankster and always up for a good laugh, a naturally gifted artist, and a kind hearted soul who would give you her last pound.  She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family and many friends.

At rest on Tuesday 9th February 2021 at her home and surrounded by her loving and devoted family, Nadia, aged 39 years of Basford, the dearly loved and loving wife of Paul, the much loved and cherished mummy of Tara and Paul Jr, a loving daughter of Frances and Javad, a treasured daughter in law of Michelle and Ian, a dearly loved sister of Roxane, Julian and Lee, also a loving sister in law to Elizabeth and Tim.

Nadia will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all her loving family and many friends.

Glenn Riley

“My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies. Fairy tales of yesterday will grow but never die. I can fly, my friends. The show must go on!”

At rest on  18th January 2021 at the Royal Stoke University Hospital, Glenn, aged 48 years of Newcastle, the dearly loved and loving son of the late Marjorie and Ronald Riley and a much loved and treasured brother of  Pauline and Shirley.

Glenn was a kind man of many hobbies: gaming, bird watching, fixing TV’s, tapping into truck drivers radio systems to have a chat, or sometimes police radio systems to have a listen. He also had great memories of camping in his younger years, latterly Glenn lived a quiet life and kept himself to himself, he was philosophical about life and had no fear of what was to come.

Ian Parkinson

“The loss is immeasurable but so is the love left behind.”

At rest on Friday 15th January 2021 at The Royal Stoke University Hospital, Ian aged 52 years of The Westlands a treasured and much loved  husband of Michelle, adored dad of Tilly and loving brother and brother in law.

Ian was an avid Manchester United supporter, and loved attending the matches with his daughter Tilly. He is going to be so sadly missed by all his loving family and many friends.

Due to the current restrictions a private funeral service and cremation will take place at Bradwell Crematorium on Tuesday 2nd February 2021 at 1.20pm.

The family request donations if wished in memory of Ian to be divided between The Royal Stoke University Hospital Critical Care Pod 5 and a trust fund for his daughter Tilly, via the funeral director.
